This is our First Call for table reservations to the 14th annual Shenandoah Valley “Salute to the Family” dinner.   The theme for this year is “A Celebration of God and Country”!

Previous speakers have included Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, Wallbuilders’ Founder and President David Barton, and perennial Valley favorite E.W. Jackson.

When and Where?

The Celebration will be held from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, at the JMU Festival Conference and Student Center Ballroom.

Who?

Our featured speaker is Rafael Cruz, father of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and a powerful example of the American Dream.

Born in Cuba, he lived and suffered under a cruel, oppressive dictator.  Fighting against the Batista regime as a teenager, he was imprisoned, tortured, and nearly killed simply because he wanted to be free.

Cruz arrived in Texas in 1957 on a student visa with little more than the clothes on his back.   After working his way through the University of Texas, he built a small business and later joined the State Board of the Religious Roundtable to help mobilize people of faith during the 1980 Presidential election.

An ordained minister, father of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and Director of “Grace for America”, Cruz travels the country sharing his story, speaking on the Judeo-Christian foundations of America, and encouraging us to return to the values and principles that made it such an exceptional nation.
