The Most Dangerous Place to Live in Virginia

A Memorial and a Mission

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for pro-life voices.

First, we observed the Sanctity of Life Sunday two weeks ago.  Second, we marked the 44th anniversary of the tragic Roe v. Wade Court decision last week along with the newly unveiled Day of Tears flag drop to half-mast.  Finally, we will go to the March for Life tomorrow in Washington DC.

It is time to move on.  But is this annual “Mission of Life” memorial now gone and forgotten until next year?  What more can we do?

Our TV program this weekend focuses on what more we can and must do to help end this bloody history of crimes against humanity that are taking place every day in Virginia and across America.

The Questions

First of all, if you’re not sure about the extent of these crimes, let’s start with three simple questions.

1.   Where is the most dangerous place to live in America today?

2.   Where do the victims physically reside who are brutally ripped apart and killed simply because they are an “inconvenience” to their parents?

3.   In what country have some 58 million of these innocent victims been put to death in the past 44 years?

The Answers

By now, you have probably guessed the answer.  A mother’s womb is the most dangerous place to live because 22% of all pregnancies in America today end in abortion.

To put this into perspective, the number of babies destroyed by abortion since the tragic Supreme Court decision in 1973 now stands at 58 million.  That is nearly 10 times the number of Jews killed in the German Holocaust.  And we said it couldn’t happen in America.

Bringing it closer home, the Virginia Department of Health reports that approximately 20,000 of these take place in the Commonwealth every year, or about 55 per day.  (See HERE for details.)

The Response

So who is responsible for committing and for defending these barbaric crimes?  But equally important, what will our churches, our elected officials – including our newly inaugurated pro-life president, and our judges do to stop them?

Finally, what can we ourselves do to help protect the unborn in the court of law and to rebuild a culture of life, both in Virginia and across America?  What more can we do?
