Calling All Pastors for a New Great Awakening

A New Great Awakening?

Our TV guests this week come to us again from across the mountain, this time from Williamsburg and Hampton, to sound the alarm – like modern-day Paul Reveres — about the direction of America today.

They are calling on our priests, pastors, and lay leaders to take the lead in stirring a new Great Awakening in America like those of the 18th and 19th centuries that led to our war for independence and then for an end to slavery.

From their experience in radio and in business, our guests will tell us whether they see the sun rising or setting on America and what their major concerns are for the future.

They will also explain why they believe we are witnessing the destruction of 400 years of Judeo-Christian values in our culture — and what we can do to restore the Founders’ vision of America as a City on a Hill.

The Role of the Church, the Pulpit, and the Pew

But that is a problem for some people. What about the separation of church and state?  Shouldn’t we focus more on evangelization and avoid hot-button “political” topics?  Can’t we quit “thumping” our Bibles, stop trying to legislate morality, and just get along?  Those are some of the questions we will be asking our guests.

David Carmichael is the Principal Minister of Freedom Ministries with a Faith and Freedom radio show that applies the Bible, the U.S. Constitution, and moral standards to every issue and situation of the day.  He is from Hampton, VA.

Stan Treleaven is the Founder and President of the American Foundation and a Member of the Board for the Virginia Christian Alliance.  Raised and educated in England, he served in the USAF, worked for Boeing in Seattle, and then established his own companies in Boston and Williamsburg where he now lives.
