“There is a universal language (in America’s historic declarations) which affirms that this is a religious nation, … a mass of organic utterances that this is a Christian nation.” U.S. Supreme Court, 1892
“Without God, there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life. Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first – and most basic – expression of Americanism. Thus the Founding Fathers saw it, and thus with God’s help, it will continue to be.” Dwight Eisenhower, 1955
“If we ever forget that we’re One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” Ronald Reagan, 1984
“You shall provide out of all your people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness.” (Jethro to Moses, Exodus 18:21)

Choosing Our Leaders
With just over 10 weeks left until the state-wide elections on Nov. 3, and with all of our state senators and delegates up for (re)election, we need to know which candidates for public office are best qualified to lead Virginia and our local communities for the next four years.
Which ones share our concerns about the moral decline of our country? And which ones are committed to help restore the Judeo-Christian values and constitutional principles on which America was founded and has prospered as “One Nation under God”?
Finally, what is our role in electing such leaders? Are we registered to vote and, if not, why not? It’s important, because if we choose not to vote, we are in reality helping to elect candidates who do not share or are even hostile to our values. Winning matters!
In addition to elections, what else can we do to help renew America’s Godly Heritage, and what role can and should pastors and churches play in this important process?
Grand Plan For a National Restoration
To help answer those big questions, please join us this weekend on Valley Faith in Action as we review the Jericho Plan for confronting the strongholds of evil in our culture, the Nehemiah Plan for rebuilding the broken-down walls of America, and the grand seven-step plan for a Third Great Awakening and National Restoration in America.
David Barton
As an added bonus, we will feature David Barton from Wallbuilders on this, the final edition of his 11-part series on America’s Godly Heritage. For example, he will address the question of which is more important to good government. Is it the laws on the books, such as our Constitution, or is it the men and women who write, interpret, and enforce those laws?
