Review of Part I with E.W. Jackson at the Crossroads

ew-jacksonIn case you missed Part I of our conversation with Bishop E.W. Jackson on Crossroads last week, we talked about his early life as a young black boy in a foster home.  He was failing in school and headed for a life of drugs and crime in big city America.

So what happened that helped him turn the corner into a high achieving student and on to the U.S. Marine Corps and Harvard Law School?  What then took him into the ministry and more recently into politics as a candidate for the U.S. Senate and for Lt. Governor of Virginia?

Why does he refer to our situation in America today as an even worse crisis than what we faced in WWI and WW II?   And why does he call on all Americans to “Exodus Now” from the Democrat Party – just as he and his wife did many years ago?

Finally, as a descendant of slaves, why has America’s Godly Heritage become so important to him, and what has inspired such a passion in him to found S.T.A.N.D. as a tool for restoring the Founders’ vision of America as shining “City on a Hill”?

It’s an amazing story of a man driven by his love for God and Country – a Christian Patriot in the very best sense of the term!  But it all raises even more questions for him in Part 2.

Part II:  A New Civil War in America?

In the sequel that airs this weekend, Bishop Jackson elaborates on many of these questions.  For example, who is the enemy in our battles today, and what ignited this new Civil War that pits Americans against Americans?

What role has the Obama administration itself played in the escalating attacks on our Judeo-Christian values and on our Constitutional principles?

These include its attacks on the Sanctity of Life, on the Institution of Marriage, and on our Religious Freedoms.  They also include its role in fueling our rising national debt, as well as its failure to identify, to confront, and to defeat the rising threat of Islamic terrorism here and around the world.

Furthermore, what compelled Jackson as the pastor of a growing church in Chesapeake to enter the political arena, particularly in the face of frequently heard demands that the church should stay out of “politics”.  Why is he so insistent that everyone take a S.T.A.N.D. and become more engaged in every area of our culture and in the public square to confront Evil and to promote Good?

Finally, why is voting one of his top priorities?  Why does he encourage everyone to be sure they are registered to vote and then to cast their ballots for the candidate or candidates who are most committed to restoring America to its Judeo-Christian values and Constitutional principles?  And what can we do to help?
